Sound Journey info:
Sometimes it's hard to get down past our own busy minds. Journeying with sound can be an invaluable tool to help us to let go and slip down past that chatter. In this sound journey guided by Ben Carroll, we will utilize the sounds of singing bowls, voice, solfeggio tubes, and various other sound tools to journey deep within ourselves with the intention of reconnecting to our higher self to strengthening our own intuition and inner knowing. We will utilize the energy of the group gathered at this beautiful location, coming together to hold this intention to amplify our results.

We will start the afternoon with some simple group toning to activate our group energy and then move into the experience of the sound journey for approximately 45-50min.

This is sure to be an amazing journey and celebration at an amazing location, definitely an experience to be remembered.

Ben's new album Multidimensional Voice is available for pre-order!

Release Date: 08/08/2016

Hello Friends,

Multidimensional Voice is an album that I've been working on quietly for well over the past year and a half. This album is not about writing songs, it's not about trying to get on the radio, it's not about anything except allowing myself to express something that needed to be expressed, and honoring the journey of sound & vibration exploration that I've been on for the past several years...learning how to function in that resonance. This was no small undertaking, the full album is currently clocking in at just below 74min, now that I've shaved it down so that I could fit it all onto just 1 CD.

Musically Multidimensional Voice is a bit of a departure from any project that I've ever put together in the past...but this was music that was calling out to me to be made. This is an album that has been created straight from my heart & soul, straight from my own exploration of finding my place on this planet, finding my voice, and my connection to (and exploration of) sound & vibration from a spiritual perspective. I've been pulled towards this sound and the potency of using voice as an instrument without words for sometime now. It's taken me several years of experimentation, and allowing myself to drift into whatever musical whims I've felt, to organically find my way and emerge with this sound, to the point where I can now present it as a cohesive album.

To me this album is many things, but I suppose first and foremost, it is the product of a spiritual exploration that has been deeply connected to sound, vibration, resonance, and voice. This sound came about organically by allowing myself the space to try and understand the potency of that magical combination, a combination that has been used in ceremony and as a mode of consciousness transport by many peoples since before recorded history. Sound is powerful, the power of sound is transcendent. Sound organized into music is an experience that changes your vibration, one that can greatly enhance your life. Uplifting music will uplift your life.

I've recorded this whole album using the tuning of A 432hz. If you are interested in that type of thing, there is a plethora of information out there about A432...and you can always ask me.

I'm hoping to continue in this direction in the coming year, I'm dreaming of landing some soundtrack gigs, and things of such. We will see how this plays out, it's quite a departure in sound from any of my past work.

In kindness, compassion, & hope,

Ben Carroll

House Concerts

Back in April I went to a show and had a wonderful time! Sounds like what you'd hope for in an average night out on the town right..? This was a little different though...it was a house concert.

I've been hearing about house concerts for quite awhile now, it always sounded a cool idea, but I never really paid it a lot of attention. But now after actually attending my first one, I find myself thinking, "Why aren't I doing this?!?!?" The music sounded great, the chairs were comfy and there were a lot of very nice people in the audience.

So, I think it's time that I open myself up for this. Why not right? After all, I'm definitely sick of playing bars...and I know a lot of people that are quite sick of going to bars. In comparison, house concerts are low key, intimate shows...the one I attended had probably 20 people in the audience...it actually looked a lot like the pic in the top left of this blog post. It was a really nice experience...one I'd like to have again, as an audience member or as a performer. Right now I'm all about trying out new and exciting ways to host concert experiences! (click here to find out about a show we've put together on a private island!!)

Do house concerts sound like something you'd be interested in too?

If you happen to be interested in hosting a show at your house, or have an idea of the perfect spot, please feel free to get in touch. (contact Ben) We'll figure out how to make it work and hopefully make it profitable for all parties involved, by selling tickets beforehand, and/or charging at the door and splitting the profits, or some other way. I live in the Portland Maine area, so for now, it would probably have to be a New England based show.

Just thinking out loud... =) What do you think?

Skype Lessons vs In Person Lessons

I have been teaching exclusively on Skype since 2008. Back in the beginning, I used to have to hop on a test call with people to make sure that their connection speed and audio setup was up to par for the lessons to actually have the physical possibility of happening. I was probably about 50-50 that a persons setup would be completely good to go. Usually, with those whose setups were lacking, we could get them up to speed, probably about 75% of the time. But there were times when people's internet connections just couldn't handle online video conferencing.

In the past 6 years this technology has come a LONG ways! It's probably been a least a couple of years since I've run into anyone with a connection speed that cannot handle Skype for online lessons... I've had students all over the world, as far away as Australia and the middle east. I've even had a student that used to use his phone and/or tablet for Skype lessons! How cool is that?!?!? It's amazing how far the technology has come in such a short amount of time.

Still, I run into people that are just completely against learning via video conferencing. That is ok, to each his own. I haven't offered in person lesson since 2008 due to the restrictions of my living situation...but I'm thinking that I may offer a few in-person lesson slots. So, I'm curious to see if there is any interest in that in the Portland, ME/Brunswick, ME area?
